Survivors
Northern Ireland is a new organisation currently establishing itself in
Northern Ireland. It's sole aim will be to provide information and a
listening ear to male survivors of abuse and rape.
The organisation
is at the 'infant stages' and currently working on a constitution but
you can help in several ways. You could
1. Become
a member of a working management committee which will take the
organisation forward with an aim of becoming a service provider in Northern
Ireland.
2. Join
as a member and help fundraise and raise awareness on the issue of male rape.
3. Take
part in the Survivors Northern Ireland training.
Please read on.

Survivors
Training
The first project to be
undertaken by survivors Northern Ireland will be to have an awareness training
day in Derry/Londonderry open to individuals and organisations working with
men. It is anticipated that the training day will cost around £50 per
person and be around late April 2001. The reason for the fee is to pay for
the trainer(s) from London and the venue. Interested email survivors@ireland.com
and have as your subject training.
Finally, as you
know male rape and abuse is an issue NOT very often discussed. We hope to
bring it to the public agenda and raise awareness of this issue which will
benefit survivors.
