Club
Outrageous
It
might appear that Galway has just one gay club but there is a
new club that is attracting the locals and word is begining to
spread about....... Club Outrageous!
Organised by members of Galway Pride, it firmly puts the irreverance and craic of the
scene back into club land. Outrageous is held in 3 different venues around the city, the Town
Hall Theater, The Black Box and The Radisson Hotel.
The nights and venues are advertised on posters throughout the city but it's not marketed as a
queer club, which seems to work as the crowd is fairly diverse, friendly
and safe.
The club showcases new Galway DJs aswell as old favourites from Club
Devout and the now defunct "Studio 152". Speaking to one of the organisers,
he makes it clear that they want to stay clear of commercial music,
house music will be the norm (disco buunys beware!).
Having been several times to all three venues, I'd say that the
atmosphere is always great, the admission reasonable and the music
top notch.
The nights in the black Box definitly should not be missed and there happens to be
one on the first Saturday in Feburary.
Don't Miss It!!!
