What is a Fluffer?: 
On porn movie sets, the "fluffer" is the crew person who... helps the male star "stay in character" essentially he puts enough air in to the stars balloon to ensure that they stands to attention!!!

 

Overview: 
This film, set in the world of the gay pornographic industry, involves a romantic triangle between a straight male porn star, Johnny Rebel (Gurney), his hetero stripper girlfriend,
Babylon (Day), and the young gay man, Sean (Cunio), who idolizes Johnny to the point that he gets a job with Janus Films 
and subsequently becomes Johnny's "fluffer." 

Review: 
"The Fluffer" begins as a vivid and slightly off-beat comedy 
about a young gay man and his associated gay hero worship,
it is quite humorous at the start and has a fresh screen presence that unfortunately descends rapidly into banal melodrama. Sean (Cunio) is a young out-of-work gay actor in Los Angeles. (who does not seem to phone his mother :-).... One night, he rents what he believes to be the video "Citizen Kane," (as he has been viewing a series of classical movies) but when he gets back to his small, bed sit and puts the video in, it turns out to be a gay porno flick titled "Citizen Cum." 

The star of the film is the beefy, hyper-masculine adonnis..very nice pecs - Johnny Rebel (Gurney), and Sean becomes obsessed with him. Applying for work at the film's production studio in order to be close to his idol, Sean ends up not only shooting Johnny's videos, but he also becomes Johnny's personal "fluffer" a role which Sean does not seem to believe conflicts his 'directorial role'..Sean prepares him for
the ever valuable cum shot. Problems arise when Sean discovers that Johnny is actually straight, and has a stripper girlfriend, Babylon (Day).

The story is not one of harmony or romance, but is more based around the self obsessed egocentric of one straight male porno star, his pregnant girl friend and our principal character..Sean the obsessed young gay man. Don't expect anyone in this film to lead a happy life. It would seem that in one way or another they have all been affected by issues in their lives and or the porno industry and their associated lifestyles.

For the first half of "The Fluffer," directors Glatzer and West create a sharply funny parody of the porn industry, and the romantic innocent who has invaded it, but by the time the film 
turns Johnny into a cock sucking degenerate, the movie seems collapses along with his downward spiral.

Overall this film..is a miss...I regret that it is only mildly 
entertaining and certainly breaks no barriers in either artistic progress or cinema photography...
