Who?

He's the newest, yummiest, fresh star to come out of Hollywood (Sorry Leo, you simply put on too many pounds) Josh Hartnett is riding his way to the top, Having made his name in 'Pearl Harbour', he will next be seen in another war time epic 'Blackhawk Down'. With '40 days and 40 nights' and 'O' to follow over the next few weeks, you wont be able to avoid him at your local multiplex.


Having beefed up for Pearl Harbour and again for 'Blackhawk Down', he now wants to slim down and loose his 'Teen Idol' image, he purposely avoided the teen movie market. Due to the high profits from 'The faculty' and his 'boy next door' looks all he got offered for some time was the generic teen chick flick. If not an actor, he would've been a football player. Ironic actually, because if he had not played football in high school and injured his knee cap, he would have never auditioned for a high school play, win the lead role 
of Huck Finn, and fall in love with acting.


It's a period Josh wants to forget and now no longer a teen ager is anxious to shake off his boy next door image, which is part of his reasons of taking on grittier roles. He obviously is now thanking his lucky stars that his SIX auditions for a role in Dawson's creek led nowhere. In Blackhawk Down he plays an army ranger in Somalia, going through some personal moral dilemmas. Its filmed as a documentary style drama based in 1993, when Starvation had been relevant for a while, clans were at war and the UN went in to try and get a handle on things, followed by the US, which helped spark a war.


Used to having a female co-star, Josh was upset not to have anyone to snog in his latest movie, he joked about a kissing scene with co-star Tom Sizemore but tells that it found its way onto the cutting room floor. This is not something Josh has to worry about in his next movie '40 days and 40 nights'
A comedy about a Catholic guy having trouble getting over his ex-girlfriend, who comes to a conclusion that the only way forward is to have sex with a lot of different women. 
Now what would his girlfriend have to say about that? Nothing, as he stays fairly quiet about his relationships!!


The next step in Josh's career is a screenplay, he's working on a story idea, altho currently is staying tightlipped on his idea's, waiting until he has a finished product before unleashing
it on the movie making powers in California. While this might take some time, we're lucky enough to have three Josh Movies to look forward to.
