Stuck
Attended the press review
this evening of the European premiere of this award
winning play. I can see why it did take so many awards. It's
Entertaining stuff with acting at its best form. The show is a
one man affair, with Irish Man Sean Power taking the role of
Jack.
How can one twenty year old man entertain an audience for over
an hour with just a bar stool?.
Jack's adventure takes him
on a journey into a cities underworld, on a search for
drugs, cash and sex and prostitution to pay for his drug habit.
Gaggin for a joint he succeeds in blowing off his pusher in
return for that vital spiff and in his enlightened state
recounts his mad meetings with people along the way in a modern
day Canadian city.
Anybody from Canada
would be well advised to go and see this play. He tells of a
sexual encounter with a nun on the subway, his meeting with the
elders from the church of latter day saints who try to convert
him from his poofter ways. Suddenly he can't handle a closeted
Mormon with a split personality? Ending up instead being raped
by the claustrophobic camp museum attendant! He seeks refuge in
a looney bin so that he can look back on his person from 'above'
until it wears off and he finds him self back on the streets
again - looking for the audition, always looking.....
the story of my life
" Eat, Fuck,Kill, Eat, Fuck, Kill..........., Kill
In my opinion well worth
seeing and cheap at the price, it was one of the first plays
that inspired me to write a review, its showing for a limited
run during the Fringe Festival, booking is advisable.
