COLLEGE LGB'S RAINBOW WEEK
FEBRUARY 5TH-9TH
2001

(All
week rainbow ribbons will be on sale at the
Rainbow Week stand in the Trinity College Arts
Building. A select proceeds from Rainbow Week and
the selling of the ribbons will be donated to
Open Heart House. Also all week there will be a
raffle: a trip for two to Manchester with flights
and accomodation in a four star hotel, courtesy
of the British Travel Authority. The winner be
will be drawn at the Thursday night event)
MONDAY THE 5TH
(4 p.m.) Intervarsity and intersociety football
match with LGB teams from Trinity and Maynooth,
Trinity's Student Union, and five Trinity society
teams. Sponsored by Ballygowan.
(7:30 p.m.) Gala Opening Night, featuring special
guest Pauline McLynn (Ms. O'Doyle from Father Ted).
Awards given to winners of society-sponsored
literature competetion, short performances by a
choir and Trinity Players. Followed by invite-
only wine reception for Trinity LGB Society
members, speakers, and competetion entrants,
sponsored by The George.
TUESDAY THE 6TH
(1 p.m.) Lesbian Luncheon in the society room
(Room 27, House 6), with free coffee, tea, and
sandwiches sponsored by the Trinity Student Union.
Sorry boys, this is a women-only event.
(7 p.m.) Showing of the film Stonewall, with
informative talk and discussion by Conor Kostick,
followed by a wine reception. Showing in conjunction
with the SWSS, in the Walton Theatre of Trinity Arts
Building.
WEDNESDAY THE 7TH.
(7 p.m.) Coming Out Workshop, run through
affiliation with Trinity College LGB Rights Officer,
Iain Gill. Other speakers include Sinead Collins
(USI social worker from Northern Ireland), Karen
Griffin (TCD SU Welfare Officer), and Diane Goldthorpe
(USI LGB President). To be held in the Eliz rooms,
House 6.
THURSDAY THE 8TH
(1 p.m.) Extended tea and coffee in the LGB Society
Room (Room 27, House 6).
(7 p.m.) Bingo in the Buttery, with Dolly Dying for It
and Siobhan Broadway (last years Miss Alternative Ireland).
Great Prizes. All attending must be escorted by Trinity
College students, in accordance with College regulations.
In conjuction with Trinity SU Ents officer, Timmy Carty.
FRIDAY THE 9TH
(TIME TBA) Meeting of the Mature LGB. Email the society
for more details.
(9 p.m.) Intervarsity showing of the Rocky Horror Picture
Show, with a prize for best fancy dress to be presented by
Renttecca, Dublin's favorite alternative drag queen. To be
held in the Irish Film Centre, tickets must be purchased in
advanced. Email for details.
